Jennifer is co-host of the Naked Wealth Podcast, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Best Selling Author, and business owner.  After a decade in the financial world, I am passionate about helping people live lives of freedom and fulfillment beginning today.  Many people await a future date to truly start “living”.  I am here to change that.

What are the interview questions for podcasters?

Can you tell our readers about your background? Throughout the years I have helped individuals thrive and live their best lives.  Through working in special education with children with various disabilities, and now, helping individuals make smart money decisions so that they can live a fulfilled life now, in the future, and ensure that their children and future generations can continue to do so as well.   Often we live for that future date when things are all lined up to take that vacation, start that exercise program, eat better, buy that car, etc.    Why wait?   No one is promised tomorrow.   I have a Master’s Degree in Special Education, I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and a Chartered Financial Consultant®.  I am a mom of 4 kiddos, a wife, and I understand how crazy life can get.  I have made it my mission to live my own life on my terms, and help others do the same.

What inspired you to start your podcast?

Full well rounded wellness is critical for fulfilling longevity. I started the podcast to be a place where professionals can share their zone of genius in a way that listeners can relate and enhance their life or find access to someone that may help them achieve or fill that hole in their wellness that they are seeking to improve.  My cohosts, Timea and Vanessa add their own stories and perspectives to round out our team.

What were the first steps you took?

I decided I needed to get information out, partnering with people who knew a lot more than I did. I mentioned it to Timea, and she subsequently let me know that she too, along with Vanessa had discussed doing a podcast but they were not comfortable launching it themselves.  We decided to join together and make it happen.

What has been the most effective way of raising awareness for your podcast?

Social media and word of mouth.

What have been your biggest challenges when launching your podcast?

The biggest challenge has been the technical side of things.  Never having done a podcast, we didn’t know what equipment to use, software, etc.    Our most recent episode was not ideal due to microphone issues.  It has been a bit of trial and error.    The other challenge we run into with doing a podcast with multiple co-hosts is the coordination of time.  With busy lives, it can be difficult to get our schedules to line up.

How do you monetize your podcast? What are your best tips to monetize a podcast?

We all use the podcast as a lead magnet for our personal businesses.  I am in financial services and Timea and Vanessa own a yoga studio together.

What's your best piece of advice for aspiring and new podcasters?

Just do it. If you wait for the time to be “just right” you won’t ever do it. Embrace the imperfection and just got for it.  The right time is “now”.  If you don’t put yourself out there and dare to make mistakes you won’t have the impact you desire.    Your perfections are in your imperfections”.

What's your favorite app, blog, and book? Why?

I love anything by John Maxwell. I find his approach pragmatic yet motivational.  His worldview is similar to my own, and his perspective always resonates with me in a way that encourages me to take action.

What's your favorite business/podcast tool or resource? Why?

I really like using Zencastr and my ring light.  As a new podcaster, Zencastr is intuitive to use and has options for audio-only or audio and video.  You can record in person or virtually using the website.    When using video, I always use my ring light.   Home promotional videos and photos also always come out better with a ring light in the room!

What projects do you have planned for the next six months?

I am speaking at the Women’s Thrive Summit (womenthrivesummit.com) in March and am working on a few other speaking engagements and community activities that have not been announced yet.
